Having kids at home is a fun and lively experience. However, we have to understand that kids will always be kids, and they may run into some kind of danger, even at home. So as parents, we have to remember to keep these "Do's" and "Don'ts" in check, to ensure a safe environment for your children.

Do
• Teach your kids not to run up or down the stairs. They should hold firmly onto the railings.
• Keep matches, lighters and sharp objects out of sight and in a place where kids can't reach them.
• Use safety latches and locks for cabinets and drawers where you store medicine and detergents.
• Put non-slip rubber strips underneath carpets and mats to prevent kids from slipping on them.

Don't
• Never leave any cooking unattended. Always turn the pot handles towards the back of the stove and away from the reach of your child.
• Do not overload electrical outlets. Keep switches with plugs turned off and use plastic caps on unused outlets to prevent little fingers from jabbing into them.
• Try not to leave clutter and small, sharp objects lying around, such as buttons, coins, pencils, strings and plastic bags.

Should an emergency happen at home which you cannot handle on your own, call for help instantly! Here are some important numbers you should remember:
 Police & Ambulance 999
 Fire Department 994
 Tenaga Nasional Power Breakdown 15454
 Dial from Mobile Phone 112
 Telekom Directory Enquiries 103
