Mornings mark the beginning of a new journey, and what better way to start than with good health? Never underestimate the goodness that comes with a good headstart in the morning, so here are some ways you can kick it off on the right foot.

Behold the morning sun
Exposure to the morning sun allows your skin to take in Vitamin D which is vital to your body’s absorption of calcium. To “stock up” on this essential nutrient, go for a brisk walk or do a spot of gardening for about 20 minutes in the morning every day.

The breakfast club
Form a breakfast club with some friends and use this time to catch up on the latest in each others’ lives. Add an element of fun and fitness by arranging to try out different exercise routines before breakfast!

 

 

Morning breathing
Facing the morning with aches and pains? Relieve it with a simple breathing exercise. While standing, bend forward from the waist, letting your arms dangle close to the floor. As you inhale, return to a standing position by coming up slowly. Then exhale and bend forward to start again.

Organise a family picnic
Take your breakfast outdoors with your family! Choose a spot where there’s an activity for everyone – roller-blading or cycling for your teens, a nice relaxing spot under the tree for your parents or in-laws, and an open space for you to do some stretching or tai chi.

A great day starts from a great morning, so remember to make every morning a healthy one!
