Healthy Snacks for Kids
Feedback   Send to Friends   Print

What should you do when your child returns home hungry and raids the fridge for after-school snacks?
Try these snack ideas that are healthy and tasty.

Snack right
Growing children should have three main meals a day with two or three snacks in between. They need to eat
every three to four hours to replenish their energy and it’s important that they snack healthily too for a balanced diet.

Snack light
Your children are likely to snack all afternoon on their favourite food if you let them. To avoid spoiling their appetite for dinner, serve up some light snacks two hours before the main meal.

Plan-a-snack
Yogurt with fresh fruits: NESTLÉ® FAT FREE YOGURT is a deliciously healthy option.

A bowl of cereal with fresh milk: e.g. NESTLÉ® KOKO KRUNCH® or NESTLÉ® HONEY STARS®.

Frozen fruit treats: Freeze grapes, raisins or prunes to make mini fruit popsicles.

Hard-boiled eggs: A handy treat that’s full of protein and nutrition.

Drink up: Give your child a beverage like MILO® or YOCO™.

Play with your snack
Turn snack time interactive by getting your child involved. Let them help in selecting and preparing the snack of their choice and they’ll be more likely to enjoy it.

Make snack time fun time for your child and they’ll soon be saying no to junk food.
