Nestlé Malaysia MD shares leadership experience with students in inaugural Afternoon Tea Talk session with TalentCorp

“For a leader to succeed, you must have a good team. Look after your people and they will do the same ~ Alois Hofbauer”

The quote above is one of many life advice shared by Nestlé Malaysia’s Managing Director, Alois Hofbauer to Malaysia’s top undergraduate students in the Afternoon Tea Talk session held recently.

The Afternoon Tea Talk with Nestlé Malaysia’s Managing Director was an inaugural effort for the Company, conducted in collaboration with TalentCorp, as part of the latter’s “Breakfast with CEO” series. These sessions have become a prestigious platform for Malaysian university students to network and interact closely with leading industry players from top companies in Malaysia.

The talk, which was held on 15th September 2015 received an overwhelming response when it opened for registration, and saw attendance from close to 60 top university undergraduates from universities such as Sunway University, University Malaya, INTI, Malaysian Multimedia University, International Medical University, among others.

During the one hour session, Hofbauer gave students an overview of the business, shared about its Nutrition, Health, and Wellness values, as well as provided deeper insight into the Company’s principles on Creating Shared Value amongst stakeholders.

The highlight of the talk was the lively question and answer session where Hofbauer’s fielded the students’ probing questions on leadership, and shared advice from his extensive career with Nestlé spanning 25 years to date, in countries including China, Taiwan and Sri Lanka.

Commenting on the talk, Hofbauer said, “The students are capable young individuals with strong potential and a bright future ahead. I am glad to have had the opportunity to share my experiences with them and I hope this will help motivate them to pursue their dreams and eventually become leaders in their own right.”
