As part of our continuous commitment to provide a positive difference to those in need, Nestlé Malaysia’s Reaching Out to Community and Kids (ROCKS) Employee Volunteer Programme hosted the annual ROCKS Charity Bazaar, aiming to raise funds for the underprivileged and to sustain its volunteer programme.
Themed ‘Markets of the World’, the ROCKin’ Bazaar saw the avid participation of Nestlé employees, fondly known as ROCKers. There was a total of 23 booths selling a variety of goodies ranging from popular Nestlé products such as MILO, NESCAFÉ DOLCE GUSTO, KIT KAT, Nestlé BLISS, local and international cuisine, accessories, and preloved items all for a good cause. The sale successfully raised more than RM70,000!
The proceeds were channeled to three charitable organisations; Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih, Rumah Kasih Harmoni and Rumah Victory Elderly Home. The homes care for underprivileged children, single mothers, senior citizens and disadvantaged communities. The homes received a contribution of RM10,000 each.
As ROCKS is a self-sustaining initiative, the remaining proceeds raised will be used to fuel the activities lined-up for 2017. This year, an interesting addition was made as guests had the opportunity vote for one of 11 proposed charitable causes which is close to their hearts; where the Top 5 selected charities will be carried out as part of ROCKS activities for 2017.
