From our gardens to your table Our research and development is directed at helping us better understand the processes of food production - from fresh consumables to finished products - so that we may offer consumers food products that promote health, wellness, and enjoyment.
Food for every age, at every stage The 21st century has offered many new challenges and key among them is the growing food needs of the population. In addition to an exponentially increasing population, the requirements of ever-evolving lifestyles must also be considered. From a newborn infant to a growing child, and from a budding adult to a ripened senior, no two stages of the human development share the same nutritional needs. Hence, food truly is unique for every age, at every stage.
Nestlé's commitment to research and development Research has been a tradition for Nestlé from the very start, beginning when Henri Nestlé's concern for the health of infants in Europe galvanised him to create his now-famous milk cereal in 1867. From those humble origins, the Nestlé group today manufactures not only infant food but some 30,000 distinct products through all five continents which include beverages, milks, culinary products, yogurts, ice-creams, chocolates, cereals, and many more. In the world of food, Nestlé research immortalises the defining principles of the company by combining a keen sense for quality with the highest consideration for out consumers.
Global presence, local flavour Ever wondered why MILO tastes differently in Australia? Or how KIT KAT seems to resist melting readily in Malaysia? Through its 17 Research and Development Centres all over the world, Nestlé strives to satisfy the local tastes and cultural flavours in each of our markets because it understands that no two country shares exactly the same preferences. The research and development centre closest to Malaysia can be found in Singapore, where product trial development for this region is conducted.
Enriching the lives of consumers Food plays a vital role in determining quality of life, and this is precisely why it is so important to infuse quality into food products. Beginning with sensory qualities such as sight, texture, smell, and taste, to more complex qualities like convenience, nutrition, and wholesomeness.
