For more than 90 years Nestlé has been a responsible employer, providing jobs to many Malaysians. Today, thousands of people owe their livelihoods to Nestlé either directly or indirectly, they may be a Nestlé employee at the factory or the chili farmer in the fields.
Over the years, investments in Malaysia has grown ~ starting from humble beginnings as a trading office at Weld Quay in Penang, the company has now extended to 6 sales offices, 7 manufacturing facilities and a Headoffice. Our growth is a reflection of the country’s economic success and political stability.
Approximately 90% of our products are manufactured locally, maximising the use of local raw materials wherever possible. Exports of made-in-Malaysia Nestlé products are increasing steadily and this has contributed positively to the local economy. With regional production facilities of infant cereals, KIT KAT and MILO based in Malaysia, Nestlé is in a strong position to meet the demands of the global Halal market.
As the leading food company in the world, Nestlé is expected to develop the local food industry to ensure its competitiveness in the global market. To this end, Nestlé has been actively assisting small-medium enterprises in the food industry through a mentoring programme which covers all aspects of the food industry from food regulations to marketing. |
