SULLIVAN O’CARROLL
Managing Director, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad

Sullivan O’Carroll was appointed Managing Director of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad and Region Head of Nestlé Malaysia/Singapore on 1 July 2003. A psychology graduate of the University of South Africa in his home town of Pretoria, O’Carroll began his career with Nestlé 33 years ago in 1973, when he joined the company as a Merchandising Trainee in South Africa. Seven years later, he was transferred to Randburg, where he worked as Marketing Manager for the combined Coffee and Milk business. In 1985, O’Carroll became the Marketing and Sales Manager for the Confectionery business. He was posted to the Nestlé headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland in 1993 and returned to South Africa in 1995 where he was responsible for an ice-cream joint venture business. He then went on to manage the Culinary, FoodService, Instant Drinks and Liquid Milks divisions there. O’Carroll’s last posting before taking up his position in Malaysia was as Market Head of Nestlé Poland, a position he had held since February 2002.

He is a member of the General Committee of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI), and the Convenor of the MICCI Domestic Trade Committee.

O’Carroll is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Business Council for Sustainable Development Malaysia, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Malaysia - South Africa Business Council.
