We’re passionate about sports, fitness, health and wellness. That’s why we started POWERBAR® to begin
with—to help athletes reach their goals by providing convenient nutritional products. All of our products are backed
by decades of sports nutrition science and must live up to our high standards to meet the nutrition and energy needs
of all athletes—from world-class champions and dedicated amateurs to beginners.
That is where a special program known as POWERBAR® Team Elite™ was formed. POWERBAR® Team Elite™ is
a worldwide network of influential sports enthusiasts who make a positive impact on their sport. Our members include
world class athletes, regional teams, local educators, coaches and extraordinary individual athletes of all levels – all who
deliver the best in sport. This year, Malaysia has increase it members up to 44 individual athletes and 2 teams in various sports.
POWERBAR® Team Elite™ is a program in which it will support athletes to achieve their goals, while also allowing POWERBAR® to achieve its goal. It is a "win-win" program for the athletes and the brand itself. Just as our athletes look to POWERBAR® to fuel their successes, we look to our athletes to fuel our success through endorsements and exposure they bring to our products and brand everyday.
The athletes that been selected in Team Elite program are not only stellar athletes, but also a leader in their community. These are athletes of all levels, from up and coming young athletes to top age group, from amateurs to professionals. In short, these athletes will become POWERBAR® ambassador. We do not only focus on core sports such as athletics, triathlon swimming and cycling, but also concentrate on sports that are quite popular with the mass that can bring out the best of POWERBAR® products.
In order to be POWERBAR® Team Elite™ Member, the requirements we are looking for are as below:
- Malaysian citizen
- Must be a POWERBAR® User
- Successful in their mind
- Influencer/role model in their community or field
- Non-controversy background – clean records
- Potential in getting a lot of media coverage in their events and achievements
- Not being sponsored by other competitor’s products
• What are benefits of being on POWERBAR® Team Elite?
POWERBAR® Team Elite athletes receive free POWERBAR® products and gear. Members can also earn bonuses for the media wearing the POWERBAR® logo. There maybe other perks like free entries to athletic events, participate promotions or testing new products.
• Do I need to fill out an application if I am currently sponsored or have been in the past?
Yes! Please fill out the application as completely as possible regardless of the numbers of years you have been. Please note, current POWERBAR ®Team Elite members are not guaranteed renewed sponsorship regardless of time they have been sponsored.
• I am not a top-ranking professional athlete. Should I still apply?
Yes, we are interested in sponsoring athletes of all levels, from up and coming young athletes to top age group, amateurs to professionals. If you are passionate with your sport and have the ability to influence others in you should apply. However, athlete's need can change from year to year.
• How long does a sponsorship last?
All sponsorships last two calendar year from 2010 January 1st to 2011 December 31st.
• When will application be available?
Application is now open until 30 September 2009.
