MAGGI celebrates Gawai Dayak and Pesta Kaamatan

Celebrated with enthusiasm all over East Malaysia, MAGGI, Malaysia’s leading culinary expert, ushers in the Gawai Dayak and Pesta Kaamatan festivities with cooking carnivals and competitions ala Sarawak style, held throughout the month of May. Today, MAGGI celebrated the grand finale of the cooking carnival as well as the beginning of both festivals in a ceremony at Boulevard Shopping Mall. Present to share in the joyous occasion were Yang Berhormat Datuk Richard Riot Jaem, Human Resource Minister of Malaysia, Yang Berbahagia Datuk Ik Pahon Joyik, President of the Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) and Mr Alois Hofbauer, Managing Director of Nestlé Malaysia.

MAGGI has been participating in the Gawai and Kaamatan festival celebrations for the past 15 years and this year, MAGGI once again shows its appreciation to consumers through an event dedicated to bring families closer together and unite the community through the simple joy of homemade cooking.

Mr Alois Hofbauer, Managing Director of Nestlé Malaysia said, “We are excited to be part of this special occasion as we understand the importance of the Gawai and Kaamatan festivals amongst the communities in East Malaysia. The event featured a variety of cultural performances and fun-filled activities including the finale event of NESCAFÉ’s Karaoke 5 singing competition, special cooking demonstrations with MAGGI’s chef, Chef Muluk, and finalists of Miss World Harvest Festival 2013, as well as various carnival games and lucky draws.
