Leader in Nutrition, Health and Wellness, Nestlé Malaysia, today announced the Grand Prize winners of the Bonanza Hari Keluarga Malaysia Nestlé contest at the Grand Finale event in Putrajaya. The contest was organised in conjunction with the Hari Keluarga Malaysia Nestlé campaign that encouraged family togetherness amongst Malaysians
The Hari Keluarga Malaysia Nestlé campaign, together with the contest, was launched in September 2013 and involved extensive promotions in the print and electronic media as well as at point of sales.
“Spending quality time with our family is really important but in our busy daily routines today, this task may be difficult to achieve. The Hari Keluarga Malaysia Nestlé campaign is our way to support Malaysians to enjoy the gift of family, through our nutritious food and drinks, as well as family bonding activities,” said Mr. Alois Hofbauer, Region Head of Nestlé Malaysia and Singapore.
Stressing the importance of developing strong family ties, Hofbauer praised the Government’s on-going efforts in championing and promoting family togetherness, which he feels is a positive and extremely valuable support.
“Malaysians are very fortunate to have a Government that understands the importance of family closeness and continuously promotes strong family values. The policies and initiatives by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development that enhance family development are certainly commendable and inspiring,“ Hofbauer said.
In recognising these efforts Nestlé donated RM500,000 to the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, to further demonstrate Nestlé’s commitment to support programmes that enhance family foundations and bonding.
The closing event of the Bonanza Hari Keluarga Malaysia Nestlé contest was held to coincide with the 1Malaysia National Family Month in November, which was launched last year by Prime Minister, Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak. Participation from the public and private sectors in celebrating the family month this year is very commendable. The initiative taken by Nestlé in organising a campaign that promotes family togetherness as a social responsibility should be modeled.
The Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Dato’ Sri Hajah Rohani Haji Abdul Karim, who was at the Grand Finale together with the 30 contest finalists, received the donation on behalf of the Ministry.
The donation to the Ministry follows Nestlé’s pledge to donate RM1 for each qualified Bonanza Hari Keluarga Malaysia Nestlé contest entry to selected charities, as Nestlé believes that it can do well by doing good. Thus, all those who had participated in the contest throughout Malaysia not only stood a chance to win great prizes, but also played a part in helping those who are less fortunate.
The contest where consumers stood a chance to win prizes worth more than RM2,600,000 was held from the 1st to 30th of September 2013 and received 797,727 entries nationwide.
Therefore, by rounding up the figure to RM800,000, Nestlé donated RM300,000 to 15 selected charities, whilst the remaining funds were donated to the Ministry.
“Nestlé has been by the side of Malaysians for more than a 100 years, not only through our brands, but also through our initiatives for the communities in this country, such as the Hari Keluarga Malaysia Nestlé campaign. It is our commitment that we will continue to do so for many years to come, in line with our promise of delivering GOOD FOOD, GOOD LIFE,” Hofbauer added.
To decide the Grand Prize winners, the 30 finalists were put through a series challenges during the Bonanza Hari Keluarga Malaysia Nestlé Grand Finale, taking home additional cash prizes which could amount to more than RM2 million.
