KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad recently organised a Buka Puasa with 60 children from Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih as part of its ‘Reaching Out to Community and Kids’ (ROCKS) Employee Volunteer Programme.
  • The MAGGI team also donated RM5,000 to the Nestlé ROCKS programme, with proceeds raised from product sales at its MAGGI Bubur Lambuk distribution event.

In the spirit of Ramadhan, Nestlé Malaysia recently treated 60 children from Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih to a delicious Iftar buffet, and its MAGGI team donated RM5,000 from the sale of MAGGI products to Nestlé’s Reaching Out to Community and Kids’ (ROCKS) Employee Volunteer Programme.

As part of Nestlé’s ROCKS Programme, the Nestlé Dairy Team sponsored a Buka Puasa event which was held at Pusat Kreatif Kanak-Kanak Tuanku Bainun, Taman Tun Dr Ismail. Excited chatter filled the atmosphere as the children, who were between the ages of seven and 12, enjoyed a hearty buka puasa meal, breaking fast with a refreshing cup of MILO from Nestlé’s signature MILO van.

Big smiles were seen amongst all as the children, caregivers and Nestlé employees, fondly known as ‘ROCKers’, mingled and got to know each other over a delectable spread of local cuisine, including NESTUM Prawns, Chicken Rendang and Malay kuih. To add to the festive cheer, the children put on a performance, captivating the audience with a beautiful Tarian Sufi. The children were also thrilled to receive goody bags with favourite products including MILO, NESTUM and Nestlé Everyday Milk.

Commenting on his first Buka Puasa event with the home, Mr Alois Hofbauer, Region Head of Nestlé Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei, said, “Ramadhan has always been a time of sharing, generosity, compassion and empathy. Through ROCKS, we aim to do our part to make a positive impact on the lives of the communities around us. In line with Nestlé’s philosophy of Creating Shared Value, we truly believe that it is possible to do well as a Company, by doing good for the society at the same time. At Nestlé, we do not only want to touch the lives of Malaysians through our products and brands, but also through our people.”

According to Puan Rohana Hussein from Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih, “We are very thankful to corporations like Nestlé for taking time to organise events like these and to spend time with the children. It gives the children a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, and to also enjoy the festivities during this special month.”

Recently, MAGGI also added to the festive cheer as it celebrated the month of Ramadhan by distributing more than 2,000 bowls of its famous Bubur Lambuk, made extra delicious with MAGGI CukupRasa, to all Nestlé family and employees at the Nestlé Malaysia head office in Mutiara Damansara. With the proceeds raised from the sale of its goody bags during this annual MAGGI Bubur Lambuk event, MAGGI donated RM5,000 to the Nestlé ROCKS programme.
