In conjunction with International Chefs Day, Nestlé treated over 200 children from Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih, Yayasan Chow Kit, Trinity Kids and Victory Academy to a delicious afternoon of food and fun.
Following the success of its inaugural International Chefs Day celebration last year, Nestlé joined forces with the Professional Culinaire Association of Malaysia (PCA) for its 2016 celebration. Themed ‘Art on a Plate’, this year’s celebration featured 40 chefs from PCA alongside popular International Food Artist, Samantha Lee, whose whimsical food creations using fresh and healthy ingredients have become both locally and internationally recognised.
The children watched intently as Samantha created her two works of art which included an ‘Under the Sea’ theme and a lion. The children then leaped at the opportunity to try their hands at making their own ‘Art on a Plate’ together with the chefs from PCA. The Top 10 most creative entries were awarded AEON Shopping Vouchers worth RM50 as well as a limited edition Nestlé Healthy Kids school bag.
The celebration was also in line with the Nestlé Healthy Kids (NHK) Programme, a global initiative which aims to promote children’s nutrition, health and well-being around the world. NHK was first launched in Malaysia in 2010 in collaboration with the Ministry of Education Malaysia and the Nutrition Society of Malaysia, promoting healthy eating and active lifestyles to over 10,000 students nationwide. Globally, the NHK Programme has reached out to over 8 million children in 84 countries to date.
