KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Held once every four years, the Nestlé Supermeet 2016 saw over 1,000 employees from across Malaysia and Singapore gathering for friendly competition.

Months of perseverance and gruelling training paid off in a big way for Nestlé Malaysia employees taking part in Nestlé Supermeet 2016!

In true Olympics fashion, this initiative, dubbed “Supermeet”, sees Nestlé employees from Malaysia and Singapore congregating once every four years to compete in a range of sports activities. Nestlé Supermeet aims to encourage greater bonds between Nestlé employees as well as to inspire employees to lead fitter and healthier lifestyles. During this year’s Supermeet, as many as 22 events were organised, including sports such as badminton, football, netball, sepak takraw, tennis and athletics.

Over a thousand Nestlé athletes from 10 contingents across Malaysia and Singapore came together on the grounds of University of Malaya to vie for the Champion trophy. After three days of intense competition, the Nestlé Malaysia Head Office and Sales (HOU) Contingent emerged victorious, winning top honours and bringing home the trophy.

Mohd Ridzuan, who led the winning team, Nestlé Malaysia HOU commented, “We are delighted to be the champions for this Supermeet! Thank you to my team for the strong teamwork and great effort. We over-delivered and exceeded our expectations. Thank you also to our coaches, team members and sponsors.”

“We had a great Supermeet and I am very pleased to see all our athletes perform their best, showcasing great gamesmanship and excellent teamwork. Congratulations to all our winners and participants for displaying exemplary sportsmanship! It has been a truly enjoyable experience to have united our Nestlé family from across Malaysia and Singapore through this initiative. I urge all our employees to continue to lead fitter, healthier lifestyles, not just for themselves, but for their loved ones as well,” said Alois Hofbauer, Region Head, Nestlé Malaysia / Singapore / Brunei.

Further inspiring employees to embrace the company’s commitment to Nutrition, Health and Wellness, the Nestlé OMEGA PLUS Fun Walk was one of the highlights of the event. The event saw almost 500 Nestlé employees and their families walk in solidarity towards greater heart health.

Jamie Lim of Nestlé Singapore team added, “This is my first Supermeet, together with most of my team members. We are all very excited to be here and we had a lot of fun. We have also succeeded in forming new friendships and strengthening bonds during this event!”
