Flood relief packs prepared and ready to support 6,000 families

Petaling Jaya, October 30, 2025 - As the year-end monsoon season approaches, Nestlé Malaysia is proactively contributing its efforts to prepare communities at risk through its annual Nationwide Flood Aid Relief initiative. In collaboration with trusted humanitarian partners the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) and Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia (YFBM), the Company has pre-packed and mobilised essential supplies to ensure that timely support is available, deployed and ready to assist up to 6,000 families in flood-prone areas when the need arises.

This spirit of collaboration and compassion came to life again this year as over 200 Nestlé employee volunteers joined hands with MRC members and student volunteers from Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM), to pack 5,500 boxes of essential Nestlé products, including MILO, MAGGI, NESTUM, NESCAFÉ, EVERYDAY Milk, NESTLÉ OMEGA PLUS and Nestlé Breakfast Cereals such as KOKO KRUNCH and CORNFLAKES. These food aid boxes will be distributed to Temporary Relief Centres (PPS) and flood-affected families nationwide, ensuring that those impacted continue to have access to nourishing meals and daily necessities during this challenging period.

In addition to its partnership with MRC, Nestlé Malaysia has also expanded the collaboration with YFBM. Through this partnership, Nestlé is contributing products for 480 families in remote islands and rural areas, including Orang Asli communities, fishing villages and rubber tapper families. Through YFBM’s Susur Pulau 2025 and Kembara Tengkujuh 2025 programmes, essential foods and household items are delivered to families in these isolated areas, ensuring that they have their essential needs covered throughout the monsoon season.

These initiatives reflect Nestlé Malaysia’s societal commitment by leveraging the reach of both MRC and YFBM to create a bigger positive impact. Both collaborations share a common purpose to strengthen the resilience of communities facing the challenges of the monsoon season. Channelled through these partnerships, Nestlé Malaysia’s total contribution of products in-kind and financial support is valued at approximately RM2.3 million. This support covers food provision, flood preparedness measures and recovery assistance for families and communities across the country.

Mr. Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Malaysia, said, “At Nestlé Malaysia, we believe in supporting communities through our products as well as through our involvement to create a positive societal impact. The monsoon season is a difficult time for many families, specifically in the more flood exposed regions. Through our long-standing partnership with the Malaysian Red Crescent, we are able to deliver timely assistance to those affected. We are also scaling up our efforts together with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia to support the resiliency of communities and villages in remote and often isolated areas like the more remote East Coast islands.”

YTM Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, National Chairperson of MRC, commented, “Our collaboration with Nestlé Malaysia has grown from strength to strength, anchored by a shared mission to assist those affected by natural disasters. Nestlé’s consistent support enhances our capacity to respond more effectively during floods, allowing us to extend critical aid to more communities nationwide.”

YAM Tengku Datin Paduka Setia Zatashah binti Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, YFBM, shared, “Through programmes such as Susur Pulau and Kembara Tengkujuh, Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia is working to ensure that vulnerable communities, especially those in remote and rural areas, receive the necessary support during the monsoon season. Together with Nestlé, we can amplify our impact. This is a tangible example of how public-private partnerships can bring about real benefits for the community.”
