A Four-Day Celebration of Flavour, Fun, and Kari Love
Kuala Lumpur, 2 September 2025 - The irresistible aroma of MAGGI® Kari filled the air at The Exchange TRX from 28–31 August, as thousands of fans turned up for the MAGGI® Kari-Lah Karnival — Malaysia’s biggest-ever gathering of kari lovers. Over four days, Raintree Plaza transformed into a multi-sensory playground dedicated to the nation’s most-loved instant noodles, complete with celebrity chef creations, interactive games, live music, and exclusive fan experiences.

“The MAGGI® Kari-Lah Karnival brought to life the taste, stories, and connections Malaysians share over a bowl of MAGGI® Kari. It was incredible to see fans of all ages come together to eat, play, and celebrate this flavour that is truly irreplaceable,” said Ivy Tan Link Cheh, Business Executive Officer of MAGGI®, Malaysia and Singapore.
At the Makan Makan Food Village, visitors indulged in bold and inventive takes on MAGGI® Kari. Chef Fikree presented a Japanese curry-inspired MAGGI® Kari Katsu, served with crispy chicken katsu and an onsen egg, while Chef Amir Gani brought to life the MAGGI® Kari Nusantara Surf & Turf, a rich Nusantara-style soup featuring prawns, top-side beef, sliced cili padi, coriander, and finished with curry leaf butter. Chef Jia Le Woh merged influences with MAGGI® Kari Meets Pokok’s Laksa with Crushed MAGGI® Shrimp Toast, a laksa topped with shrimp paste-coated tobiko toast and crushed MAGGI® noodles.

Alongside the chefs, partner restaurants showcased their own creative twists: MAGGI Burger introduced the indulgent Burger Murtabak MAGGI® Kari, with fried chicken thigh, pickled red onion, and MAGGI® Kari sauce with cheese sandwiched between two murtabak pieces as the “bun.” Serai served a comforting MAGGI® Kari Lasagna, layering noodles with kari chicken bolognese and béchamel cheese. Pokok by Brickhouse offered the hearty MAGGI® Kari Cheese Melt Toastie, made with sourdough, mozzarella, cheddar, and paired with tomato soup.
These collaborations showcased the versatility of MAGGI® Kari, from elevated, chef-driven dishes to comforting mamak-style plates — proving that a familiar favourite can continually be reimagined in bold, innovative ways.
The MAGGI® Kita Bistro attracted a steady stream of visitors, offering them the opportunity to personalize their favourite MAGGI® noodles with a curated selection of fresh ingredients. The bistro brought to life the versatility of MAGGI® noodles—not just as a comfort food, but as a convenient meal base, enhanced with wholesome additions such as vegetables and protein sources like egg or chicken—reflecting the principles of the #SukuSukuSeparuh concept from the Malaysian Healthy Plate.
At its heart, every bowl is made with MAGGI® Kari’s signature blend of 12 spices, slow-cooked to perfection until pecah minyak for a broth that is rich and flavourful, paired with perfectly springy noodles. This taste consistency is what has made it loved by Malaysian consumers across generations and households.
Besides that, crowds took part in immersive stations like Kisah 12 Rempah, Rebut Ramuan, Kari Kecoh, and Simfoni Hirupan, collecting stamps in their MAGGI® adventure passports for exclusive merchandise. The Diari Kari wall quickly filled with heartfelt memories and quirky stories, proving that MAGGI® Kari is more than just a meal — it’s a shared cultural icon.
“Being part of the MAGGI® Kari-Lah Karnival was such a special experience. You could really feel how much Malaysians love their kari — it’s more than just food, it’s memories, laughter, and experience in a bowl. To see everyone come together, from families to friends, all celebrating over MAGGI® Kari was truly heartwarming,” said celebrity Danny Ahboy.
The MAGGI® Kari-Lah Karnival stage came alive with an exciting line-up of performances that kept the crowd energised throughout the four days. Fans were treated to That Iconic Sound led by Hungry Sam, followed by The Fastest Slurp Challenge by Squigglymack, along with sets by Yonnyboi, Bil Musa, Aisyah Retno and Asyraf Nasir — each adding their own flavour to the celebration and keeping the festive spirit high until the very end.
The MAGGI® Kari-Lah Karnival marked the centrepiece of a nationwide MAGGI® Kari celebration, which has already drawn thousands of visitors across roadshows in Sarawak, Sabah, Penang, and Kelantan, with upcoming stops at Mydin Tunjong, Kota Bharu (4–6 September), Mayang Mall, Terengganu (18–20 September), and AEON Tebrau Mall, Johor Bahru (23–28 September). More than just a product showcase, the Kari-Lah Karnival is a larger-than-life celebration of Malaysia’s all-time favourite flavour — one that holds a special place across generations and households. It takes all five senses to truly appreciate MAGGI® Kari, and through this carnival Malaysians continue to taste, see, hear, smell, and feel why it is Tiada Ganti: timeless, versatile, and always relevant.
