Petaling Jaya, August 17, 2021 - MILO® is making the dreams of young football stars come true with the MILO® All Star Challenge. A football contest that showcases the hidden skills of Malaysia’s aspiring talents, the MILO® All Star Challenge is offering hopefuls the chance to score an ultimate training experience with Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
The contest is part of MILO®’s perennial effort to provide a meaningful, accessible platform for young Malaysians to take up sports and appreciate the values that they teach. “As leaders of grassroots sports development, we are excited to forge a partnership with FAM in bringing the MILO® All Star Challenge to life to instill critical values learned through sports in Malaysia’s next generation of champions. We also hope to discover more new football talents, a tradition that we wish to continue from our popular grassroots futsal carnival MILO® Hidup Bola which has launched the successful careers of numerous national football players in the past,” said Ng Su Yen, Business Executive Officer – MILO® Business Unit, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad.
From July 19 to September 15, 2021, the nationwide search for champions of MILO® All Star Challenge is on. The contest is open to all Malaysian residents with valid MyKad identification in two categories1: Under 16 Category (ages 7 – 16 years) and Open Category (ages 17 and above).
Participants need to challenge themselves by showing off their best football moves to enter. An eligible entry must comprise a combination of three Mandatory Skills (Juggling, Dribbling and Kicking), each of which is paired with one Finishing Skill of their choice (Passing, Crossover or Score a Goal). Entries must be submitted as videos of 60 seconds or less that are uploaded to a genuine Instagram account set to public, tagging @milo_malaysia and #MiloAllStar.
Best entries will be selected to compete at the grand finale (tentatively scheduled for October) where the top eight will each earn a spot in the exclusive MILO®xFAM Ultimate Experience. These well-deserved participants will undergo a football boot camp at the FAM training facility – complete with full access to the players’ locker rooms, as well as training sessions alongside FAM stars under the tutelage of FAM coaches.
In addition to the MILO®xFAM Ultimate Experience, the Grand Prize winner will take home RM5,000 cash, a Playstation 5, a trophy and a RM100 e-voucher; Second Prize winner will walk away with RM3,000 cash, a game console, a trophy and a RM100 e-voucher; while Third and Fourth Prize winners will receive RM1,000 cash, a trophy and a RM100 e-voucher each.
