Strong fundamentals anchor robust financial performance amidst global volatility

Petaling Jaya, April 28, 2026 - Nestlé Malaysia’s sales for the first quarter of 2026 reached RM1.88 billion, representing a 6.3% increase compared to the corresponding quarter of 2025, reconfirming the Company’s solid fundamentals and its ability to execute with discipline and consistency in a volatile operating environment.

Growth during the quarter was primarily supported by solid growth in domestic sales, up 7.4% year-on-year, while export markets continued to contribute positively, increasing by 2.5%, though at a more moderate pace than in previous quarters. Profit Before Tax for the quarter increased to RM271.9 million, while Profit After Tax rose to RM205.1 million, progressing significantly compared to the same period last year. The improvement was driven by solid topline growth, enabled by strong commercial execution and brand activations throughout Chinese New Year and Ramadan/Aidilfitri, alongside disciplined cost management and ongoing operational efficiencies across the value chain. This was further supported by a downward correction in the prices of key commodities such as coffee and cocoa. Overall, these actions underscore the Company’s ability to manage external cost pressures while maintaining a relentless focus on growth, with sustained investment in its brands and capabilities.

Mr. Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Malaysia, said, “We have delivered a solid start to the year, reflecting the resilience of our business and the strength of our household brands. In an environment marked by heightened global uncertainty, our focus remains on ensuring full continuity in our operations, contributing to the nation’s food security, building on the strength and reach of our broader value chain ecosystem, in strong partnership with our suppliers, distributors and customers.”

“Through a long-standing presence in Malaysia that dates back to 1912, and the largest industrial presence in the food and beverage space, we remain focused on providing the widest range of Halal‑certified products, made in Malaysia by Malaysians for Malaysians, sold under trusted brands.”

Strengthening local capabilities and supporting the broader community continue to be core pillars of Nestlé Malaysia’s strategy. Through its Farmer Connect programmes, spanning key raw ingredients such as chilli, paddy, coffee and cocoa, the Company continues to reinforce its local sourcing ecosystem. This approach enhances supply reliability, supports national food security and contributes to stability across the value chain, while improving livelihoods in farming communities.

Additionally, Nestlé Malaysia remains committed to deepening its community support initiatives, particularly during periods of heightened need. During the first quarter, the Company expanded its nationwide Ramadan outreach, distributing nutritious meals and food kits to over 300,000 Malaysians through close collaboration with relevant stakeholders. This reflects the Company’s continued focus on supporting community resilience alongside delivering robust commercial and financial performance.

Outlook
“While the external environment in 2026 is defined by volatility and increased uncertainty, we are confident in the strength of our fundamentals and our ability to ensure continuity in this context. Our diversified portfolio of trusted brands, extensive local manufacturing footprint and broad distribution network, in combination with our downstream supply chain capabilities, continue to provide a solid foundation to navigate this environment and deliver another year of resilient commercial and financial results.”

“We will continue to focus on keeping our brands relevant and accessible, executing consistently across all channels, and managing costs with discipline. This approach allows us to maintain continuity in performance while positioning Nestlé Malaysia for further sustainable, long term growth.”
