A Happy, Healthy, Walking Day

You don't need to join a gym or wait for the weekend to keep fit. The beauty about walking is that you can keep fit anywhere - even around your neighbourhood or a nearby park. All you need is a good pair of walking shoes.

What's more, walking can reduce the risk of heart disease as well and it's a good opportunity to spend some quality time with your friends or family.

Sunlight generates vitamin D in your skin, which helps in the absorption of calcium from your daily meals. However, your body cannot generate vitamin D from sunlight that comes through glass windows, so head outdoors with your friends and family and go for a walk

Early mornings are a good time to walk because it is cooler and if you're lucky, you can hear the birds sing!
--------
Parks are good places to meet friends and get some physical activity. Adopt a walking or jogging routine and invite others to join in! Setting a regular time with your buddies will motivate you to go outdoors and walk.
--------
Fresh air and sunshine always keeps your heart pumping and spirits high. Best of all, it's just beyond your doorstep, so step outside to create wonderful, walking memories!

  • There's no better place for you to be than outside in the fresh air, but remember the tips below:

  • Use sun protection with at least SPF 15 that blocks out both UV A (aging) and UVB (sunburn) rays.
  • Not to use alcohol-based solutions on sensitive skin
  • Choose sun-protection that contains zinc oxide and titanium oxide.
  • Use mosquito patches or natural insect repellent (with citronella) to prevent bug bites.
So, the next time you look outside your window, think of all the good things that you can enjoy outdoors with your friends and family, and start exploring the wonderful benefits of walking.
