Encouraging responsible consumption and nutritious choices

This dedication seamlessly aligns with the second pillar of our ‘Good For You’ global strategy, where we focus on guiding and inspiring consumers toward balanced diets and healthier lifestyles through effective communication and engagement initiatives.

Over the years, Nestlé has played a proactive role in supporting consumers to pursue healthier diets. One of the ways in which we do this is through our voluntary Nestlé Portion Guidance initiative, where we encourage age-appropriate portion sizes, especially for energy-dense food and beverage products.
Nestlé Portion Guidance equips consumers with clear information on-pack about appropriate portion sizes and the nutritional value of our products. These guidelines are aligned with the recommendation of the World Health Organization as well as scientists, policymakers and health practitioners, along with other national food guides.
We are committed to ensuring transparency on nutritional content and ingredients for all our products to help people make better, more informed choices. We also provide intuitive and useful information to educate consumers. In addition, our product labelling also includes Guideline Daily Amount based labels on the front of pack which outlines energy content of a typical serving.
To support the overall well-being of Malaysians from all facets of society, it is crucial to raise awareness on the importance of cultivating healthier lifestyles and consumption habits.
To instil good nutrition amongst communities, we partner with like-minded stakeholders such as the local authorities and nutrition organisations.
MILO Sports
MILO has played an important role in the grassroot sports development in Malaysia since the 1950s with a wide range of initiatives and has led the way in nourishing an active and healthy nation. Through MILO Sports, we strive to unite Malaysians with a single-minded purpose to grow healthier together with sports and physical activity, supported by the nourishment and energy provided by Milo. MILO Sports offer wide range of sports programmes such as MILO Hidup Bola, MILO Champions Clinic and Milo ActivJam Senam Aerobik. Today, the programmes under MILO Sports have engaged over 1,200,000 Malaysians.
Maggi Secondary School Cooking Competition
As part of our commitment to encourage young Malaysians to make better nutritional choices, our Maggi Secondary School Cooking Competition aims to inspire and nurture budding chefs to discover the goodness of cooking homemade meals. In partnership with the Ministry of Education Malaysia, the objectives of the Maggi Secondary School Cooking Competition is to instill a love for well-balanced home-cooked meals amongst Malaysian students through a fun and interactive format; to promote awareness of good nutrition and to support them in potentially pursuing cooking as a career. Since its inception in 1997, the programme have positively impacted 10,000 schools and over 342,000 students.
Nestlé Omega Plus Walk A Million Miles
A well-established advocate of heart health among Malaysians, NESTLÉ OMEGA PLUS has been leading the charge in embracing heart-healthy habits through its annual Walk a Million Miles (WAMM) campaign since 2001. Organised in conjunction with World Heart Month, WAMM 2024 marked its fifth edition of cultivating more active, heart-friendly lifestyles. The month-long virtual campaign this time around kicked off with a physical run at Taman Tasik Metropolitan Kepong to generate excitement and spur participants to take 10,000 steps daily throughout the month. WAMM 2024 saw a record participation of 30,622 Malaysians, a 4% increase from the previous year, who collectively achieved an impressive 2,154,407 miles that was double the campaign’s target. We honoured the achievement by doing our part for heart care in the country with a total donation of RM100,000 to Institut Jantung Negara and Yayasan Jantung Malaysia. WAMM continues to be a cornerstone of NESTLÉ OMEGA PLUS’ mission to shine the spotlight on heart health through awareness and community engagement.
