Nescafé Classic Kopi Kedah

First home-grown coffee made with 100% local coffee beans
Local Farmer
Watch out Malaysian coffee lovers, as we present our first ever 100% home-grown coffee, Nescafé Classic Kopi Kedah! This first edition is made with 100% locally grown coffee beans from the Nescafé Grown Respectfully sustainable coffee farming initiative launched in Kedah in 2019.

The coffee beans used in Nescafé Classic Kopi Kedah are grown with respect and selected with utmost care. Roasted to perfection and ground to a fine coffee powder, this delivers the signature aroma and taste of Nescafé Classic, bringing Malaysians a truly authentic local coffee experience. Further paying homage to the 100% home-grown product, the all-new Nescafé Classic Kopi Kedah is packaged in a printed traditional Malaysian batik aluminum collectible tin can, bringing to life local elements.

Nescafé Classic Kopi Kedah
For many years we have been supporting rural communities in Malaysia. We have been engaged in chili and rice farms across several states. Now we are proud to revitalise the coffee farming in Kedah through our first Nescafé Classic Kopi Kedah, delivering the best taste from coffee beans grown on Malaysian soil, with the love, care and respect for the land and the people!
Juan Aranols CEO, Nestlé Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei

The Nescafé Grown Respectfully programme is a collaborative effort with local partners aimed at reviving the local coffee sector in a sustainable manner, for the famers and the planet. While providing technical assistance and support to the farmers with a view towards improving their livelihoods and quality of life, the programme aims also at training them to the latest sustainable agricultural technics to ensure a higher awareness towards higher care and attention to preserve the environment and the ecosystem, ensuring a sustainable future for the coffee farming in Malaysia.

The beans must comply to the high-quality standards in line with Nestlé’s requirements to ensure the delivery of a great tasting beverage production.

To date, this programme has seen the participation of more than 100 farmers, planting close to 70,000 plantlets. While this is indeed a significant milestone, this is only the beginning. We will continue to heighten our efforts to cultivate a sustainable coffee future and positively impact the local farming community in Malaysia.

Hear it from our farmers!

Local farmer

Mazlan bin Isa, 52, Sik, Kedah

The reciprocal crop system between coffee and cash crops pioneered by Nestlé has helped me generate continuous income throughout the year, alongside receiving my year-end bonus from the coffee production. I am grateful to be a part of this programme.

Local farmer

Romlah binti Hamid, 64, Sik, Kedah

The new coffee seedlings provided by Nestlé are identical to the mother plant. With this, the coffee beans harvested from my farm are expected to increase significantly!

Local farmer

Che Nai bin Hassan, 65, Sik, Kedah

Through the wedge grafting technique and rejuvenation of old coffee trees method taught by Nestlé, my coffee trees are able to thrive. With increased potential to produce quality fruits, this will provide lucrative income.
