MILO® To Make Five Million Malaysians Get Active

MILO® launches the MILO® Aktif Negaraku movement, bringing its support of grassroots sport to the next level, integrating cutting-edge technology to get Malaysians active.

MILO®, a supporter of grassroots sport for more than 60 years, kicked off the MILO® Aktif Negaraku movement today. Bringing together the many well-loved grassroots sports programs that MILO® supports under one banner, MILO® Aktif Negaraku has one overarching goal – to make five million Malaysians get moving and start living an active lifestyle.

“We have been nourishing Malaysians for over 106 years through iconic brands like MILO, which has tirelessly championed Malaysia as a sporting nation and encouragedMalaysians to lead a more active lifestyle. As part of our on-going plans, we are expanding our mission to make five million Malaysians get active with our new MILO® Aktif Negaraku movement. This is our promise to deliver Good Food, Good Life to all Malaysians,” said Alois Hofbauer, Chief Executive Officer, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad

“This mission to make five million Malaysians active will contribute to Nestlé’s global commitment to help 50 million children worldwide lead healthier lives,” added Hofbauer.

To galvanize the participation of 5 million Malaysians all over to get active, a year-long series of grassroot activities and roadshows will be conducted nationwide under the MILO® Aktif Negaraku movement. This movement will bring together a spectrum of grassroots sports platforms that MILO® supports, including the MILO® Champions Clinics, MILO® ActivJam Senamrobik, MILO® Hidup Bola, MILO® Malaysia Breakfast Day and the all-new MILO® Bola Juara. By bringing these activities together under one banner, with one purpose, MILO® Aktif Negaraku will create a multitude of opportunities for Malaysians to get moving and start living an active lifestyle.

MILO® Aktif Negaraku represents the future of our commitment to a more active Malaysia, bringing together our existing platforms with exciting new elements such as the partnership with FC Barcelona for our MILO® Champions Clinic: Barca Edition, and adding entirely new initiatives like the new MILO® Bola Juara – a world-first for Malaysia.” said Philomena Tan, Business Executive Officer – MILO® Business Unit, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad.

The new MILO® Bola Juara, a unique ‘Smart Ball’ created by MILO®, made its world-wide debut at the MILO® Aktif Negaraku launch. Connecting wirelessly to an app, the MILO® Bola Juara tracks the number of taps, passes, and other movements it makes, allowing users the ability to track their activity and progress. The MILO® Bola Juara will feature at various MILO® Aktif Negaraku events across the country over the coming months, reaching out to children and their parents in each state and encouraging them to get active with the facilitation of the exciting new technology.

The MILO® Champions Clinic: Barca Edition will take place from 31st March and 13th of May, and will see kids from across Malaysia receive training from coaches including local football heroes Azman Adnan and Coach Yong. Additionally, 19 kids who have taken part in the MILO® Champions Clinic: Barca Edition will get the chance to take their experience to the next level with a trip to the home of FC Barcelona: Camp Nou.

More MILO® Champions Clinics, focusing on six other sports, will be rolled out later in the year, along with other activities under the MILO® Aktif Negaraku movement, including the eagerly-awaited return of MILO® Hidup Bola.
